Definition

Google’s three measures of how a page behaves for a real visitor: how quickly the main content appears (Largest Contentful Paint), how quickly the page responds to a tap (Interaction to Next Paint), and how much it shifts about while loading (Cumulative Layout Shift). Measured from real users’ browsers, published by Google, and used as part of its ranking systems, without guaranteeing a position.

Field note

Core Web Vitals are a strange bunch of letters and acronyms that Google uses to punish slow websites.

Board question

Does the homepage pass on mobile today, and when did anyone in this room last look?
